Gerard Bertrand La Forge Corbières Boutenac 2017 - Wine

Tasting Notes

Deep mature cherry colour, an explosive nose opens onto grilled toast spices and clove. The palate reveals powerful and elegant aromas, reminiscent of caramelised red fruits. This is an exceptional wine with soft tannins and a spicy finish.

Production Notes

The fruit was manually harvested. Whole grapes were transferred to vats, without crushing and each variety was vinified separately by carbonic maceration. The wines then went through malolactic fermentation before the blending of the different varieties. Ageing took place in new 225 litre oak barrels for a period of 12 months; the barrels are carefully selected. The wine was not filtered before being bottled. The bottles were cellared for a further 12 months prior to release.
