Gerard Bertrand Chateau La Sauvageonne Pica Broca 2016 - Wine

Tasting Notes

The bouquet is characterised by aromas of the garrigue, black fruits and spice, with subtle notes of gingerbread. On the palate the cuvee Pica Broca shows fine, elegant tannins and is well-balanced with a pleasing liveliness on the finish.

Production Notes

The grapes were hand-harvested at optimum polyphenolic ripeness, and then meticulously sorted before being transferred to temperature controlled vats. Only the ripe, healthy grapes were selected in order to maintain the high quality. The two varieties were destemmed and vinified separately. Maceration lasted approximately 20 to 25 days. The wines were then transferred to new 225 litre barrels, where they matured for 12 to 16 months.
